Frequently Asked Questions
How long does processing typically take?
Processing time varies depending on the season and current volume. During peak season (November-December), processing typically takes 7-10 days. During slower periods, we can often complete processing in 3-5 days. Our tracking system allows us to give you a more accurate estimate when you drop off your deer.
Do I need to skin my deer before bringing it in?
No, we provide complete skinning services as part of our basic processing package. However, your deer should be properly field dressed before drop-off. If you need guidance on field dressing, please call us, and we'll be happy to provide instructions.
How much meat will I get from my deer?
The amount of meat varies based on the size of the deer and the types of cuts requested. As a general rule, you can expect approximately 35-45% of the field-dressed weight to be packaged meat. A typical 100-pound field-dressed deer will yield about 35-45 pounds of packaged meat.
Can I get my deer processed into specialty items like jerky and sausage?
Absolutely! We offer a wide range of specialty processing options including various sausage flavors, jerky, snack sticks, and more. These services are available at an additional cost per pound as detailed in our pricing section.
How do you ensure I get my own deer back?
Our advanced tracking system assigns a unique identifier to your deer that follows it through every stage of processing. This ensures that you receive meat only from the deer(s) you brought in. For specialty products that require batching (such as sausage or jerky), we process similar animals together, but our system ensures you receive the correct weight equivalent to what you brought in.
